Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your lie in April)

"This is an anime about a 10-year-old tortured musician or a documentary if you are one of the Jacksons."

Visible Violin & Invisible Piano

This anime is called 'Your lie in April'.A story about the 14-year-old pianist, who loved the idea of fingering Steinway & sons until his mother's untimely death. Now it's up to a blonde girl with blue eyes to make him realize that he is being too melodramatic.

Baseball
Soccer
He has friends, two of them actually, one is the captain of a baseball team other is the captain of a soccer team or as I call them as -
 'AXIS OF BLINDNESS ACTIVITIES!'

One has a crush on the main protagonist and another one has a crush on main protagonists crush. It has all the ingredients of making a great soap opera for all our mothers to devour.
Don't let the dark theme fool you into thinking that this anime is far away from the fun town. The first line in this anime was:

"The world looks more colorful when you're in love."

Which I agree! The world does look more colorful when you're in love as colorful as children skin after taking a piano lesson from an adult who couldn't achieve their dream so they forced their dream into their children by beating them ruthlessly and telling it's for your own good. This is too 'asianic'!

The Mother
Wouldn't you trust her with a 5-year-old kid
It has not been a pony ride for the main protagonist. If the pony ride included his mother beating him everytime he misses a note, then he's riding one hell of a horse. The animation quality is so good, you will feel like you are getting beaten by his mother for the piano lesson that you can't afford cuz you don't have a piano.
Kudos to the writers for sticking up to the Asian stereotype of children getting beaten by their parents for playing the piano while hiding their depression from them.I've always known that this stereotype is true but I had to make sure of it from their perspective.

With that out of the way. This anime is about classical music or as every child in Asia known it as a "You have to play or ?"(*True story). This anime also has one of the best taglines of my recent memory -
*'I met the girl under full-bloomed cherry blossoms and my fate has begun to change'.
The tagline is brilliant? They should give something to the guy who came up with the tagline like -
*'You are fired, now go on to the streets, give handjob at the bus station for change'.

Cute
The main protagonist is a child star, who got into playing pianos because he loved it and later down the road his mother. It's like passing the torch but if the torch was extinguished from the start. So our main protagonist as bright as he decides to carry his mother's unfinished dream to become the best pianist player.

Model 105268
He meets his female companion who is a white blonde girl with blue eyes and can play the violin,15 minutes into the first episode. If you are an anime fan this is one the points, where you start drinking for cliches. At the end of the first episode, the savior 'blonde girl' convinces the main protagonist to play the piano once again after 2 years of the refusal of playing it.

No, she doesn't possess the power of hypnosis, I double checked it.she convinced him to play piano because after taking too much beating from his mother, he's become this person who follows orders without asking why? OR maybe he thought a cute girl asked me to play piano with her, Why Not?

This anime has 22 episode and an OVA.The story moves fast without random fillers unlike in one anime where the kid wanted to be a politician or the other anime where one kid tries to find a piece.

This anime also has some of the best soundtracks of my recent memory. If you are into classical music then, you'll love the heck out of it.

This anime will blast you with classical musician names and their sponsor names and of course the names of their reward prizes for winning a piano competition. Here are some words that mean something to the pianist enthusiast: Bach, Paganini, Guarneri, Future recital. If you know the meaning of all of these words, I'm sorry cuz your mother is a MILB (Mom who likes to beat)*not in a good way.

Pickpocketing
The one thing I loved about a classical concert that there's nobody holding the phone up in the air recording it so they can upload it to youtube title "the best thing you've ever seen".

Watch it! It's really too good.
